In 1950 for her birthday Shelley Winters got a rose, but she wanted a Cadillac

Shelley Winters - a great actress with two well deserved Oscars and a sex symbol of the 50s and with an amazing career spaning seven decades.

In august 1950 at her birthday party there was one very funny moment. The Universal-International star was already known by her fans to be down-to-earth, somewhat rough and wise-cracking. At some point she told the reporters that: "I got one perfect rose for my birthday. I wonder why someone doesn't give me one perfect Cadillac."

In the image below we can see Shelley wearing a costume designed for her (then) new movie "Frenchie" where she protrays an old west female saloonkeeper.
