A visit at the Baltimore's airport in 1951

This new airport, south of Baltimore, it is huge - five times as big as Washington's National Airport, four times as big as New York's La Guardia. Its 9.450-foot main runway is one of the largest on the coast. Its beautiful building with pinball machines and fancy showcases is making it a show place among airports. And its restaurants, bar and observation deck also bring in sightseers.

Friendship's bank waits for customers. Building's biggest tenant is Westinghouse Corp., which has 2.000 feet of space. Air Force rents other offices.

Friendship's food is served here when there are diners.

The book store has a wide selection of pocket-sizers. Visitors can also pay a nickel slot machine which pays off in cigarets.

Roomettes like this where travelers can sleep between planes are gimmicks added by airport. There are also showers, barber shops, beauty parlors.
