Rice and beef porcupines - 1953 recipe

Mix together:

1 lb. ground beef

3 tbsp. chopped onion

1/4 tsp. poultry seasoning

1/2 cup raw rice well washed

1/4 tsp. pepper

1 tsp. salt

Form mixture into 10 or 12 small balls. Brown them lightly in an uncovered saucepan in:

3 tbsp. fat or butter

Drain off excess fat and add:

2 cans tomato sauce

1 cup water

Cover tightly. Simmer 45 to 50 minutes, or till rice is tender. Serve with the flavory pan gravy.
