1954, Burbank, California - the first flight of the Lockheed YC-130A, the newest turbo-prop assault  transport. It was built at Government Aircraft Plant No.6 (GAP-6), operated by Lockheed's Georgia Division in Marietta, Georgia. This was the first plane in the long lived and still in operation C-130 series of planes. The C-130 has the longest, continuous military aircraft production run in history.
