1955 - on the set of "My Favorite Husband" (CBS-TV)

 

To warm up studio audiences before a show goes on the air and make them more receptive to what they are going to see, several CBS-TV producers are letting the audience entertain itself. They simply train their cameras on the audience, pick-up faces at random and pu them on the studio screen. Almost everyone finds this amusing, even some of the subjects who become frightfully embarrassed.
