Plan 1826 - a home for the new American Family, designed by John Randall McDonald

"A HOME FOR THE New American Family" is the description given this house by its designer, Architect John Randall McDonald. Architect McDonald has tried to achieve the "enchanted cottage" flavor with a design that respects the needs of the children of the family, makes them feel the home belongs to them as well as to the adults. Special areas are reserved for the younger set to call their own. The air of enchantment is cultivated by making the outdoor living area an important part of the plan, by bringing the outdoors inside through the glassed-in conservatory at one end of the living room. There are spaces for adult haven away from the children, too. Split-level planning allows lowest level to be used effectively.

Area: Upper levels 1,800, carport 625 sq. ft.
