That sloping lot can be an outstanding asset. If your site drops toward the rear consider this design with its strikingly simple front exterior and its interesting glass panelled rear exterior. Built on a north front lot the rear would have a southern exposure. The living areas of both levels would have cheerful natural light the year around. The high summer sun is shielded by the wide overhangs, while the low winter sun adds warmth to the interior. The exposed basement level contributes so much livability that one might look upon it as fulfilling the needs of a two-story design.
