The 1950 Frigidaire "Thrifty-30" Electric Ranges

In february 1950, Frigidaire launched the "Thrifty-30" Electric Ranges series. Those 30 inches wide models came in 2 variations the low end RM-30 (pictured below) and the top of the line RM-35 (pictured at the end of the article).


The models specs were: large 6.200 cubic inches oven, heavily insulated on all 6 sides. The oven was made from a one piece - porcelain rust-free finish. Sliding shelves adjust to 5 positions. Waist-high porcelain broiler, 5 speed 4 standard sized radiantube cooking units.

The RM-35 also had cook-master automatic oven cooking, a cooking-top lamp, kitchen clock and a full-width utensils drawer located below the oven.

The designer for these models was Raymond Loewy.
