Charles Eames builds his house out of steel and glass

In august 1950, acclaimed furniture designer Charles Eames designed and built his own house and studio, in the woods near Santa Monica, California.The house is built of steel trusses, bright stucco pannels and great curtained expanse of glass.


The living is 17 foot high with the ceiling decorated with a large chinese owl kite and a toy french horn, while outside, near the front door he placed piling from an old pier as decorative elements.
