Bart Train, San Francisco - August 3, 1976

The first all new rapid transit system in the United States was created by the Bay Area Rapid Transit District. Opened for regular service through the tunnel under San Francisco Bay on September 16, 1974, the line connects San Francisco and Oakland. Under a blue California sky an outbound train emerges from the tunnel to enter the Mac Arthur station in Oakland, August 3, 1976.
