Charles Von Der Ahe Library, Los Angeles in 1959

The Charles Von Der Ahe Library, named in honor of its chief donor, is located in the approximate center of the campus, and southeast of the student center. It is two stories high with a lower level below ground. 



The first unit was completed at Loyola University in 1959. It has a book capacity of 150,000 volumes, with seating available for 350. Resources include more than 106,000 volumes and documents, hundreds of periodicals and services, filmstrips, microfilms, and several valuable collections. Other library resources are housed in the Library of the School of Law on the downtown campus.
