The iconic Topanga Plaza Mall, Canoga Park, California and its fabulous "Rain Fountain"

 The mall opened August 24th, 1964. It was designed by  Victor Gruen Associates. The mall (the first enclosed one in SoCal) had 83 stores, with May Company, Montgomery Ward and The Broadway, serving as anchors.

From the 3-story ceiling, an estimated half-million "raindrops" cascade silently down columns of nylon monofilaments into "tanks" in a beautiful and exceptionally fascinating display at the south end of this, the world's largest two-level all-enclosed and air-conditioned mall shopping center.

Unique and elaborate displays of tropical fish and exotic birds are maintained in the spacious north end of this big, multi-level all-enclosed and air-conditioned mall shopping center. Located at Vanowen and Topanga Canyon Blvd. in West San Fernando Valley, there are some 80 shops and three major department stores here - a regular shopping city.
