The Department of Water and Power Building, L.A.

 

In 16-acre Water and Power Square, this 17-story modern administrative and working center for the nation’s largest municipal utility. Built of steel, glass and concrete, the 287 foot high building rises from a 625 by 350 fool reflecting pool with 8 fountains.

The building is completely all-electric, using the newest integrated system of lighting, heating and air conditioning. The Department of Water and Power headquarters is a Los Angeles city landmark, a symbol for “Water for Life and Power for Progress".
