BH&G Five Star Home #2509

Five Star 2509 is a realistic house - not built only on a set of ideal conditions. It's a handsome house conservative looking, yet emanating an air of true individualism. Its distinction lies not in complicated and costly details, but in clever uses of materials. The house abounds in desirable living comforts. An unusually good indoor-outdoor relationship gives you four private, sheltered terraces. Separation of areas is excellent the parents' secluded apartment, the private bedroom-and-bath unit for the children, the great expanses of floor-to-ceiling windows (rooms merge with outdoors), and the proximity of laundry to kitchen.

Garage and board-and-batten fence are bridged to house in such a way that front and activity side of house is private from the street. Gable end exposes posts and beams used to simplify home's construction. Wide eave shelters glass from rays of summer sun.

Here's a family room outdoors! This area is recreation terrace for children and adults, well in sight and reach of kitchen and family room from which it naturally extends. Glass, sheltered from street, is nicely scaled to this 70-foot activity side. Board-and-batten siding is redwood stained gray.
