BH&G Five Star Home #2902

Five Star Home 2902 is as pleasant at the rear as it is in front. Windows of the same size were used wherever possible around house. High peak of roof gains attic storage space (reached through pull-down stair in bedroom hall). Windows on either end of the house help to keep attic free from hot air in summer. This is essential for economical air conditioning. Gable roof on the porch makes this area an important part of house design.

Really good Traditional design today is hard to find. True, many houses go by that name. But most are little more practical today than the log cabin. And no wonder. People don't live the way their Colonial forebears did. We like a freedom to move around inside and to go outdoors when we please.

And we do want simple, timeless design. Here's the Traditional look most of us like best. This house has the space and convenience that go with a modern, up-to-date floor plan. And it displays the wonderful charm inside and out that a warm and inviting house ought to have.

Bricks and boards, shutters and high-pitched roof all make this handsome house a just-right home. The L-shape is compact yet spacious-looking. It adapts to a 75-foot city lot or a country acre or more. Large family-styled rooms make it a home to be comfortable in.

Family enjoys an afternoon snack on their wonderfully livable porch. Screens on three sides open this area to outdoors; jalousie windows make the porch usable nearly all year. French doors open to living-dining area.

The entry provides the first and last impression of your home. You'll find no nicer view than this. Two inset pillars frame the covered entry. A white fence with roses adds soft beauty to the classically simple lines. Two large windows at left add light and fresh air to the family room.
