In the 1950s, in Downtown Mobile, Alabama, the historical Admiral Hotel was expanded. The new building was built across the street.
It had 110 oversized guest rooms, most with private balconies overlooking patio pool. Pool was temperature controlled for year 'round use. Delightful Purple Paddle cocktail lounge. Magnificent lobby and dining facilities. Two elevators. Ice machines on each floor. TV. Completely air-conditioned. Free parking.
The building was demolished.
