Your new homes: the modern "angle"

The unusual feature of this small house, aside from its spacious closets, twin washbowls in the bathroom, and modern design, is the open plan of the living- dining-kitchen area. This house was designed for a narrow lot facing south, a difficult location to get best use of. But in this instance, the result was thor- oughly charming.

The living room has a window wall to the sunny front lawn, and the splayed window in the dining area enjoys a lovely eastern view and morning sun. The U-shaped kitchen is a part of the dining room, and its snack-bar affords a "pass-through" for convenience in serving and clearing. But there is complete privacy for this area, for a venetian blind above the bar, and the free-standing closet, flanked by a plant stand, make a vestibule. The bedrooms have double exposure and a view.

Even the garage that might jut out ungracefully, is tucked into the kitchen entryway and camouflaged by exterior planting. It is the little things that count here.
