The Little Red Dress - 1950s first fashion classic

At the begining of 1950, the fashion designers decided to take the famous little black dress and bring new life into it by adding some color. And not any color but the color of love and passion - red. The materials they used were: lace, crepe and chiffon.

The first fashion houses that implemented the new ideea were: Delman, Traina-Norell, Diminutives, Young Hollywood, Miss America and the fashion legend Omar Kiam.

A showcase of those creations was made specially for LIFE Magazine in february 1950.
