1950 Formica kitchen and bathroom countertops brochure

Formica is a special type of laminated plastic invented by Daniel J. O'Conor and Herbert A. Faber in 1912 for Westinghouse. This invention quickly caught the public's attention and by september 1913 big contracts from Bell Electric Motor, Ideal Electric, and Northwest Electric rolled in.

But the gold vein was struck, by Formica Insulation Co, right after WW2, specially during the 50s when they made kitchen and bathroom countertops fitted for the new modern designs and needs of the post war families.

Below you'll find a 1950 Formica brochure.
