A visit at the 1951 Singer Sewing Center from 1010 Nicollet Ave. Minneapolis

We can say, without being wrong that Singer is synonymous with sewing machines. But back in the days they also operated a chain of around 1.200 department stores under the banner "Singer Sewing Center".  The department store showcased here was located on 1010 Nicollet Ave. Minneapolis.

The stores were selling sewing machines, vacuum cleaners, and all kind of accessories and materials needed, while also offering tailoring services and at some point even tailoring and sewing classes.
