1954 - The Austin-Healey "100" sets new speed record for a car under 3.000 cc

 


In 1954  Austin-Healey "100" became thw rold's fastes production car under 3.000 cc. At Binnevilla Flats, Utah, a slightly modified Austin-Healey topped 142 miles / hour.

The car was created by fame designer Donald Healey. It has heater, defrosters, twin carburators, tachometer, three forward speeds, solenoid overdrive, adjustable windscreen, disappearing all-weather top, tonneau cover, individual bucket seats with custom-fitted leather upholstery, roomy luggage comaprtment and wire-spoke knock-on wheels.
