1955 Genevieve Fath takes over the fashion house after her husband's death.

 


After the death of the fashion legend Jacque Fath in November 1954, there was the big risc of the company to colapse, yet in an emotional loyalty gesture, all 600 members of the staff remained in the company, and Genevieve Fath, his wife and first model took over. The entire team worked day and night and created 126 designs with 600 outfits for the 1955 Paris Fashion Show. 

After opening (image below) she is momentarily overcome. She is comforted by Mme. Bojenow of french Vogue, who assures her collections lives up to tradition.
