Easter fashion of 1955

Easter is always the heyday of the hat and here, in time for Easter shopping, are some new designs from New York's top milliners shown as they may be worn to church on Easter morning. No longer so laden with flowers, the hats themselves are made in the strong, fresh colors of spring. Small hats are still the favorite, and one big-brimmed style comes with a snug-fitting separate cap worn beneath it. Soft silk and organdy come in the almost sporty shapes usually reserved for straw or felt and are worn with tailored suits or shirts which are also brighter in hue. Young-looking rollers which tie under the chin are equally becomning in big and little sizes. Like the season's newest party clothes, the outfits worn with these hats are colorful.
