The 1955 window dummies of New York's Lord & Taylor

Twinned models are Tucker (far left) and dummy in print dresses and drummy matching Carol (right) in smaller size.

Two of the figures in the spring fantasy above are veteran fashion models. The others are their sculptured dumplicates, just beginning an inanimate career as mannequins in a store window. Made for New York's Lord & Taylor, the dummies are replicas of Tucker Burns, 9 and Carol Bancker, 6 who made a trip to a mannequin factory to sit for sculptor, have their measurements taken and give snips of their hair to the wigmaker.
