North Beach Airport in 1939

Planned for both land and sea planes, the new international airport is easily reached from Manhattan by Triborough Bridge, whose towers rise just beyond the railway bridge's arch. Pan American Airways, Imperial Airways and German and French lines will use this port. New Federal buildings for passport and customs inspection rise just beyond the hite "apron". The field is planned to be ready for use in June, 1939.
