The Maas Brothers department store in St. Petersburg, Florida

This beautiful department store, that mixes art deco with streamline modern, with a gorgeous front entrance mural, opened its doors in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida in 1948. This was the company's  first full line branch store and marked the start of the expansion.

The building was positioned right across the street from Williams Park. It had more than 3 1/2 acres of floor space. After its closure in 1991, the building sat empty untill 2005 when it was demolished to make space for a generic looking office tower.
