Uranium fever of 1955 - using helicopters to prospect

 


Flying the rim of a deep Colorado canyon in a Bell helicopter, a pilot hunts uranium with a special airborne scintillation counter. Prospecting by helicopter in the canyon country is on the increase, but it costs as much as $100 an hour. Rim.flying is a skilled, dangerous business in either helicopters or light planes.
