Hickory Lane is a planned community with gorgeous colonial homes in West Hartford, Connecticut. Responsible for this project is architect Walter Crabtree Jr. who designed lovely wood homes with all the modern amenities of the 1940. The homes are separated through well manicured lawns.
Hickory Lane is neighborly. No fences or hedges rise up to mark off the boundaries of each man's do-main. Each lawn and garden flows smoothly into the next in a friendly, communal way, as with the Stanley Dimock home place here.
Here's an idea for you to adopt paneling the fireplace wall with ver-tical planks, then repeating this paneling in other rooms.
