Wolf & Dessauer Department Store Fort Wayne, Indiana

Wolf & Dessauer Department Store Fort Wayne, Indiana first opened its doors at the begining of the 1900s at the ground floor of the Barnes Building - a lovely neoclassical building By the mid 1930s they moved into a new building, a 6 storey department store. Back then it was said that they had one of the largest Christmas decorations in the U.S.

In 1959 they opened a new and modern store (the 4th one in the department store's history) on Clinton bounded by Wayne and Barr Streets. In the 1980s, after a decade of vacancy it's purchased by Waterfield Mortgage who guts the interior. After the 1990s the building was heavily altered and today is looking totally different.
